The incredible attainment that the Year 6 children achieved puts The Blue School among the highest performing primary schools nationally. A significantly high percentage of children reach the ‘higher standard’, which is a testament to our curriculum and extremely high expectations for the children. Our school’s combined outcome of 88% in Reading, Writing, Maths places us within the highest-performing group of state-funded mainstream primary schools nationally. The strength of the outcome is particularly significant given the cohort size of 64 pupils, with 56 pupils achieving the expected standard in all three subjects.
Our school also demonstrates considerable success in securing high attainment for our pupils. The very high proportions achieving the higher standard in reading and mathematics indicate that pupils are not simply being supported to reach the expected standard; a substantial proportion are being challenged successfully to achieve at a higher level.
The consistency of attainment across reading, writing and mathematics is a significant strength. The Blue School has established an ambitious culture in which pupils consistently achieve highly, with the curriculum, teaching and assessment effectively and successfully supporting this.
